Joe Carlton Hancock, 79, of 2809 Orlendo Dr., Asheboro, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services, 2 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Cedar Falls United Methodist Church, Asheboro.

Officiating, Rev. Mike Lee, Rev. Terri Howard, Rev. Rob Roberts.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Joe Carlton Hancock, of Franklinville, departed from this life on November 22, 2016 after a long illness. He was a longtime member of Cedar Falls United Methodist Church. He retired after a career as a long distance truck driver, first working for others and then for himself as an owner-operator. Joe loved watching old westerns, as well as all sports, especially NASCAR racing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruth Walker Hancock, and brother in law, T. A. Nance Jr.

Survivors: wife, Jewell Nance Hancock of the home, son, Joey Hancock and wife Kathy, of Bowling Green, Virginia, brother, Wilbert Hancock and wife Shirley, of Franklinville, and grandson, Chris Hancock and wife Susan, of Bowling Green, Virginia, sisters in law and brothers in law, Eddie and Sharon Routh, Steve and Susan Nance, Mildred B. Nance, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine companion, Tessie.

Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Friday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur, and other times at the residence.
