Victor Hal Hussey, age 92, went peacefully to his eternal home on April 8, 2017.
A funeral service will be held at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to the service.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Purvis Hussey, daughter, Joy Menius and husband, Dr. John Menius, of Asheboro, and son, Yates Hussey and wife, Carmen Hill Hussey, of Robbins. Also there are three grandchildren, Zachary Charles Hussey (Lauren), Alex White Menius (Maegen), and Meredith Menius.
Preceding him in death were an infant son, Christopher Lynn Hussey, his parents, Hobart and Hattie Howard Hussey, and brother, Harding Hussey of Robbins.
Mr. Hussey was born on September 25, 1924 in Moore County but grew up in Asheboro. He returned to the area of his roots in northern Moore County and finished school at Highfalls High School. He attended Campbell College and later graduated from NC State University. He taught Vocational Education at North Moore High School for 25 years. The areas were drafting, wood working, electricity, small engine repair, welding and pottery.
His main interests were farm and shop activities, reading, and traveling, which took him over much of the U.S., Canada, and Europe. To honor the memory of a great uncle killed at Gettysburg, Mr. Hussey became a member of the Sons of the Confederacy. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was of the Baptist faith.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8454 Howard Mill Road, Bennett, NC 27208.
