It was a great honor and privilege to have helped take care of Mr Grady the past few months. To be in the presence of a living legend was such a humbling experience. His kindness, even when he wasn't feeling good, was refreshing just to be around. The stories he shared were ever so entertaining. I will forever be a better person for having shared time with both Mr Grady and Ms Helen. Prayers and Condolences to the entire family. Thank you for allowing me to be a friend !!!!!

Grady was a wonderful man. I had known him all my life. My brother started his baseball career as a bat boy for Ramseur Auto Parts. He played high school ball at ERHS and American Legion Baseball for ER. He went on to play college ball at Elon. Through all his years playing baseball Grady was always supportive,. After Chris graduated college and moved away every time I saw Grady he always ask how I was and how Chris was. We last had a wonderful conversation at Carolina Eye in Southern Pines where I was there for some surgery and Helen had an appt. We laughed and talked about times long ago and not so long ago. I feel blessed to have known this man.
Sympathies to the family during the coming days.

Mr. Lawson, "Grady," was truly an icon before we knew what the word meant. What a lasting legacy he has left on Ramseur, ERHS, Randolph County, and North Carolina. I'll never forget that he, Mike, and Mrs. Helen took me to the first NC State football game I ever attended, and then the Red-White Basketball game that night. Talk about a young boy being on cloud nine! I know this was just one of countless examples of Grady bringing joy to others, over many decades. Our prayers to Mrs. Helen, Gina, Mike (our other Grady) and all the family.

We extend our sympathy to Helen and all of Grady's family. Everyone who knew Grady was a part of his family. He was such an inspiration to so many young men and women, giving them his knowledge, sharing his time and love to them. He made them all better by setting an example of kindness, tireless hours of his time, showed them the true meaning of what a Mentor does to bring out the best in people. He shared his life with everyone and was one of the most committed people we have ever known. Thank you, to his family, for sharing Grady with us. We will truly miss him. However, Grady is the palm of GOD'S hands now and we know that he and Harold Kivett will be watching over all the future baseball games at The Grady Lawson Baseball Field at ERHS. We love you Grady.

Dear Lawson Family,

know that there are many others who are grieving the loss of Grady with you but celebrating the legacy that he left. My sister and I grew up in Ramseur and knew Grady all our lives. He was a wonderful Christian man who had a servants heart and who loved beyond measure. He has fought the good fight and has finished his race here. Thanking God for Grady and the life he lived, the impact he had on countless others and the love he showed to all.

Praying for god's peace and love to cover you all during this time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during Grady's passing .Grady was a remarkable person who will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember first moving to Ramseur and playing baseball. Grady found out that I did not have a baseball glove to play with and he just gave me a glove. That first impression of him helping me was so instrumental in playing baseball from that point on. You will be missed by many but never forgotten for all your contributions..

This is heartbreaking, this is by far the sweetest, loving, caring and funny man I have met. It was always a blessing to see his smiling face at a ballgame even on his bad days. He would always make you smile. He had more love for others than most people now days do your themselves. He was by far a blessing to us to have know him and call him our friend. God Bless the family, may god wrap his arms around you all and provide you comfort.
