William "Kenny" Kenneth Smith, 62, of Greensboro, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020.
Graveside Services, 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2020, at Red Cross Baptist Church, Climax.
Officiating, Rev. Bud Rowe.
Kenny was a native of Chatham County and a member of Red Cross Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an officer with the Sanford Police Department, a First Sergeant in the North Carolina Highway Patrol and a Corporal with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department. Kenny was a loving husband, father, and "Paw Paw". He was preceded in death by his parents, John Kenneth and Maxine Lednum Smith.
Survivors: wife, Amelia Wicker Smith, of the home, daughter, Crystal Routh and husband, Tyler, of Climax, son, Josh Smith and wife, Jennifer, of Liberty, brother, Steve Smith and wife, Gin-Nie, of Greensboro, grandchildren, Wyatt Smith, Evalyn Routh, Lacie Routh, Rosslyn Smith.
The body will lie in state at Red Cross Baptist Church from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2020.
