Samuel "Scott" Alexander, 76, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Beacon Place at Authora Care Collective in Greensboro.
Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Friday, July 14, 2023, at Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church, Liberty.
Officiating, Rev. Keith Edwards.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Scott was born in Guilford County and was raised on his grandparents farm in Liberty, NC. He had a very successful career in executive insurance sales with Mass Mutual, becoming a top producing agent nationwide. Scott then began his own racing apparel company and later worked as a mortgage loan officer in the banking industry.
Scott proudly served our country in the United States Navy, having served in Vietnam and receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Medal as well as the Purple Heart. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Liberty and the Greensboro Lions Club.
Scott enjoyed all that life had to offer, including spending time in the mountains, playing golf with family and friends and enjoying all things UNC Tarheels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Guy and Rebecca Causey Alexander as well as his first cousin and friend, Waldo Gordon Causey.
Survivors: wife, Amy Alexander, of the home, step-daughter, Lindsay Golding and husband, Josh, of Troutman, step-son, Frank Goad and wife, Liz, of Durham, brother, Harold Alexander and wife, Barbara, of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren, Kylie and Kacey Golding, of Troutman, Rory and Lyla Goad, of Durham, nephews, Woody and Jay Alexander, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday evening, at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Friday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Liberty.
