Ruth Boyles McAlister McCrickard, lovingly known as "Granny Crickard", went to be with the Lord, her family, and friends, at the age of 102 on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 11:00 AM, Monday, June 27, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Ramseur.
Officiating, Rev. Wayne Dunn.
Burial, Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur.
Ruth was a strong willed, independent, and giving little lady. She enjoyed reading, sewing, working in her flowers and loved all animals, except for snakes. Her most favorite thing of all was shopping with her friends; there was hardly a sale she missed.
Ruth was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Ramseur and was raised in Greensboro, NC by her mother Bernice Boyles, along with her brother Rass. She and her husband, Charlie, moved to Ramseur not long after they were married. She lived through many eras including the Depression, six different wars, being a widow from an early age, and seeing many family members and friends pass away before her.
Ruth lived alone with her little dog "Stitch" until she was 96 years old. She was then moved to assisted living due to a decline in her health. Ruth was a character, always making jokes and never meeting a stranger. Everyone she came in contact with was “darling”. Most everyone knew she had a stubborn side and that she would show it from time to time... all of this was just a part of who "Granny" was. She is now with her parents, Dewbert and Bernice Boyles, husband, Charlie McAlister, husband, Marvin McCrickard, son, Larry McAlister, brother, Rass Boyles, and two great-great grandchildren, Whitney and Savannah.
Survivors: Ruth has left behind her granddaughter’s, Lisa Capps, (Kenny), of Ramseur, Susan Leonard, (Ty), of Coleridge, daughter-in-law, Patricia McAlister, of Coleridge, great grandchildren, Matt Rector, (Stephanie), of Ramseur, Tyler Leonard, (Alexis), of Asheboro, Autumn Capps, of Ramseur, great-great grandchildren, Aria Leonard, of Japan, Grayson Leonard, of Asheboro, nephew, Michael Boyles, of Greensboro, along with several great nieces and nephews. We are all going to miss her so much!!!
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the CNA’s at North Point and Hospice, for the wonderful care and love they provided her. She loved you all.
