Richard Marcus Thomas, 66, of Ramseur, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his residence.
Graveside Services, 12 PM, Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Attendees are asked by the family to please wear masks and practice social distancing at the service and to bring your own yard chairs due to limited seating.

Richard was a native of Randolph County and a longtime resident of Ramseur. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelors Degree and was a retired teacher and coach with the Randolph County School System. Richard was a coach on the 2010 Eastern Randolph Softball State 2A Championship team. He was a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, E.S. and Margaret Trogdon Thomas, Jr.
Survivors: wife, Carolyn Dorsett Thomas, of the home, sons, Jon Thomas, and wife, Amanda, of Ramseur, Adam Thomas, and wife, Elizabeth, of Folly Beach, SC, grandchildren, Ethan, Kaylee, Lindsey, Tucker, and Lily Thomas.
The body will lie in repose on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from noon until 5 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home.
