Richard Granger, of Greensboro, formerly of Chattanooga, TN and Franklinville, died peacefully in his home Saturday, June 4, 2022. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his loved ones. He was 80 years old.
Memorial Services, 3 PM, Wednesday, at First Baptist Church of Franklinville.
Officiating, Rev. Joe Edwards, Rev. Steve Cox.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Richard spent most of his professional life as a Union Boilermaker, out of Local 454 in Chattanooga, TN. After retiring from Local 454 he later retired from his position as a correctional officer for the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
Richard was a family man at heart, and loved to spend time with his family and friends in Christ. He loved fishing and could more often than not be found at the local pond or lake. He loved the outdoors as well, often shooting and hunting with his loved ones.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margaret Granger, and his brothers Phil, Paul, and Charles Granger and Tom and Bruce Behre.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Granger; his children Austin Granger, Jody Lewis, Nikki Rhodes, Greg Granger, Tim Granger and Brian Lewis; his daughters in law Toni Lewis, Melissa Granger and Connie Lewis, and his grandchildren Liza, Tanner, Ashley, and Brianna.
Visitation, 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM, Wednesday, First Baptist Church of Franklinville.
