Ray Caldwell Thompson, 94, of Staley, died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Private Graveside Memorial Services, Thursday, at Rehobeth United Methodist Church, Ramseur.

Ray was a native of Guilford County and a longtime resident of Staley. He was employed as a U.S. Postal carrier for 43 years. Ray was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of First United Methodist Church in Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Clyde and Beatrice Edwards Thompson, and brothers, Rudy Baxter Thompson, and Roger Murphy Thompson.
Survivors: wife, Ruth Thompson, of the residence, daughter, Carol Lynn Burgess, and husband, Randy, of Ramseur, son, Steven Ray Thompson, and wife, Julie, of La Crestent, Minnesota, sister, Patricia Gunn, and husband, James, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren.
