Ralph Edward York, 79, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 3 PM, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Richland Baptist Church, Asheboro with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Officiating, Rev. Thomas Smith.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ralph was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Grays Chapel School. He served in the North Carolina National Guard and worked at Eveready for 41 years. Ralph was a member of Richland Baptist Church and was always known as an honest, hardworking man with a generous heart. He loved his family and was a great provider. He enjoyed being on his tractor, working with cows and having a garden. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Edna Jennings York, his grandson, Heath Parks, and his sister, Carletta Hurley.
Survivors: wife of 55 years, Faye Smith York, of the home, daughters, Donna York Burroughs, and husband, Ken, and Kelly York Parks, and husband, Derrick, both of Asheboro, son, Michael York, and wife, Susan, of Rock Hill, SC, grandchildren, Caroline Burroughs, Jace Burroughs, Priscilla Parks, Sami York, and Jenna York.
Visitation, 1 PM to 2:45 PM, Saturday, Richland Baptist Church, Asheboro and other times at the residence.
The body will lie in repose from noon until 5 PM, Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.
