Paul Byron Smith

Paul Byron Smith, 91, of Liberty, passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2020 at Cone Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro.

Graveside Services, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery, Liberty.

Officiating, Rev. Jimmy Austin.

Paul was a longtime resident of Liberty and a retired supervisor from Gregson Furniture Company with 45 years of service. He loved farming and growing vegetables to sell at the Farmers Market. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He will be missed by his family and many friends he made over the years. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Smith, parents, Walter and Eva Kimrey Smith, also five brothers, Leonard Smith, Hubert Smith, Boyd Smith, Millard Smith, Delbert Smith and one sister, Cordie Faggart.

Survivors: sister, Oneta Paradise, of Archdale, brother, Wayland Smith, of Liberty, several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend who visited every day, Lester Hemphill who was like a son to Paul.

The body will lie in state on Tuesday from noon to 5:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home.
