Mason Long Obituary

Mason Russell Long, 15, of Asheboro, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston Salem. On Sunday, September 13, he was enjoying a fun time with friends when he was involved in a four-wheeler accident. His injuries were more than his body could recover from.

Graveside Services, 3PM, Sunday, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Seagrove.

Officiating, Rev. Charles Moses

Mason was born December 6, 2004. He was the son of Jessica Beck Brower and Jonathan Long. He was a sophomore at Southwestern Randolph High School. Mason was a member of the Beta Club and played on the Cougar basketball team. He attended Foster Street Wesleyan Church in Asheboro. Mason enjoyed life to the fullest. The highlight of any day for him was spending time with his friends and family. He and younger brother Austin were very close and Mason was a tremendously positive influence for his brother. He was an avid outdoorsman. Mason especially loved to fish and spent many hours at the pond with friends. Always ready for a new adventure, Mason loved to travel. He was a straight-A student, working hard at both academics and basketball. He was responsible and selfless, always looking out for others. He touched many lives with his heart of gold and his kind, quiet ways. We will miss him more than we can express. Mason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Beck.
