Margaret Jester Obituary

Margaret Virginia White Jester, 91, of Ramseur, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her residence. She wanted to stay with us until spring and to also meet her newest great grandchild, Callum; she was able to achieve both. Margaret's strength and determination kept her with us for two years after being diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer.

Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Ramseur.

Officiating, Rev. Wayne Dunn, Pastor Jeff Garner, Rev. L.T. Wilkins.

Burial, Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur.

To know Margaret was to love her. She always placed the needs of others before herself and lived her life as an example of selflessness, grace, strength, and most of all, love. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed sitting at her kitchen window and watching the birds. Her Ramseur farm was a refuge to cats, chickens, dogs, geese, goats, and even a turkey that earned her the recognition as one of "Roy's Folks" on a local news channel.

Margaret was a voracious reader and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the First Baptist Church of Ramseur Book Club. At any time, you could find dozens of books around her home, some of which came from her love for browsing consignment stores in an effort to find "new" literature.

While living in Virginia, she was able to show off her green thumb during years of membership in the Garden Club. One could look around her Ramseur farm and see the fruits (and flowers) of her labor. Fresh flowers from her yard always graced the dinner table. Perhaps, the most special flower in her life was the Gardenia. This flower was shared between Margaret and the love of her life, Marcell. It dates back to their courtship and on the day of her death, he sent one new bloom to his love. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marcell Jester, daughters, Therese Jester and Lisa Bales, and parents, Elmer and Grace Lankford White.

Survivors: son, Brent Jester, and wife, Donna, of Ramseur, sisters, Billie Jo White Cox, of Ramseur, Barbara Ann Jester, of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren, Felicia Barlow, and husband, Brian, of Asheboro, Austin Bales, and wife, Andrea, of Belmont, NC, Madyson Cleghorn, and husband, Corey, of Asheboro, Wyatt Jester, of Ramseur, great-grandchildren, Gavin Barlow, Sean Barlow, Marcel Bales, Acker Cleghorn, and Callum Cleghorn.
