James Edward "Jim" Evans, Jr., 71, of Climax, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Graveside Services, 3 PM, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Red Cross Baptist Church, Climax.

Jim was a native of Raleigh County, WV, a longtime resident of Randolph County, and a member of Red Cross Baptist Church. He was most proud of the thirteen years that he spent as a coal miner in WV, and later finished his career with twenty years in road construction. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Evans, son, Joseph Evans, and parents, James E. Sr. and Recie Hopkins Evans, father-in-law, Ray Harrison.
Survivors: wife, Linda Harrison Evans, of the home, daughter, Tammy Blankenship, and husband, John, of Richwood, WV, son, Benjamin Evans, and wife Sandy, of Liberty, sisters, Regina Ash, and husband Dick, of Craigsville, WV, Gail Robertson, and husband Mike, of Burlington, grandchildren, Tiffany Brown, Lucy Goad, Mark Blankenship, John Blankenship, Lane Blankenship, and nine great-grandchildren, mother-in-law, Pauline Harrison, of TN.
The body will lie in repose on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.
