Hoyt Wayne Burgess, 88, of Ramseur, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside Services, 11 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Officiating, Rev. Mark Beane.

Hoyt was a native of Randolph County, a lifelong resident of Ramseur, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a full time farmer and a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church. Hoyt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Brown Burgess, his second wife, Ruth Deese Burgess, his parents, William Emmett and Della Lineberry Burgess, sisters, Ethel Cox, and Juanita Boone, and brothers, Clarence Burgess, and Herbert Burgess.

Survivors: daughter, Pamela Burgess Brown (Gary),of Folly Beach, SC, sons, Wayne Burgess (Donna), of Ramseur, Jeff Burgess (Barbara), of Ramseur, step daughter, Teresa Craven (Chris), step sons, Michael Langley, Mark Langley, grandchildren, Cory Brown (Kelsey), Eric Brown(Katlyn), Kylie Shelton (Jack), Rachel Hairr (David), Adam Craven (Brittany), Caitlin Craven, Victoria Langley, Michaela Langley, great-grandchildren, Jackson Hoyt Shelton, Avery Shelton, Cole Brown, Aubrey Craven, special friends, Ricky and Teresa Locklear, and caregiver, Mandy Phelps.

The body will lie in state from noon until 5 PM, Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Loflin Funeral Home.
