Homer Lloyd Parrish, Sr., 95, of Franklinville, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral Services, 2 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Ramseur Church of God of Prophecy, Ramseur with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Officiating, Rev. Jason Bowser.
Burial, 11 AM, Monday November 21, 2022, Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
Homer was a native of Montgomery County and longtime resident of Franklinville. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, having served as a Sergeant in the Pacific Theater during the occupation of Japan at the end of World War II. Homer was assigned to the Fifth Army Air Force and served as a tail gunner on a B-29 and received the World War II Victory Medal and a Occupation Ribbon. He was a member of the Ramseur Church of God of Prophecy. Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Sweatt Parrish, sons, Homer Lloyd Parrish, Jr., Roy Parrish, and brother, Pete Parrish.
Survivors: daughters, Linda P. Peace, and husband, Roger, of Trinity, Brenda P. Jones, and husband, Mike, of Franklinville, Patricia P. Hudnall, and husband, John, of Gloucester Point, VA, Donna P. Blankenship, and husband, Roger, of Saluda, VA, ten grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Saturday, Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
