Harris Wayne Thomas, age 73, of Asheboro was called home to be with Christ the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Graveside Services, 11:00 AM, Monday, February 1, 2021, at Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Wayne proudly served in the United States Navy. As noted in the original Navy fight song, Wayne had, “Faith, courage, service true with honor over, honor over all.”
Wayne loved his family and played an active role in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He loved to laugh and live life to the fullest. Wayne did not sweat the small stuff. He lived large focusing on what matters the most: love, laughter, family, friendship, golf, and coffee.
He worked at Hardees and Thomas Built Buses early in his career before joining Thomas Tire where he worked alongside family and friends for many years. He was a well-respected and hardworking member of the Thomas Tire team.
The memory of Wayne’s joyful laughter and outgoing spirit will be forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
“Until we meet again, here's wishing you a happy voyage home.” Wayne is reunited with those who have gone on before him including his daughter: Victoria Lee Thomas; father: Duard Hervey Thomas; mother: Bertie Horner Thomas; stepmother: Virginia Harris Thomas; brother: Paul Thomas; stepsister: Judy Gatlin; and brother-in-law: Charles Gamel.
He is survived by his sister Mildred Gamel of Powder Springs, GA; brother and his wife: Robert and Sandra Thomas of Ramseur, NC; sister-in-law: Sandra Thomas of Asheboro, NC; friend as close as a brother: Carl Mulholland of Asheboro, NC; brother-in-law: Freddie Gatlin of Asheboro, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews, all who loved him dearly.
The body will lie in repose on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from noon until 5:00 PM at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.
