Gary Raymond Columbia, 74, of Bennett, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Memorial Services, 3:00 PM, Monday, October 9, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church, Bennett.

Officiating, Dr. Neal Jackson, Rev. Robert Kidd.

Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

Gary was born in Putnam, Connecticut and was a longtime resident of Randolph County. He served his country proudly as a veteran of the United States Navy, was an experienced electrical draftsman, and spent much time as a caregiver for his parents. Gary was a self-employed wood worker and could build anything that was needed for family, friends or his church. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church having served faithfully in the areas of discipleship, teaching Sunday School and even served as a deacon. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edith Whittemore Columbia.

Survivors: wife, Bonnie Bruce Columbia, of the home, son, Shawn Columbia, and wife, Lori, of Franklinville, sisters, Gloria Breton, and husband, Al, of West Willington, CT, Judith Manville, and husband, Bill, of Vero Beach, FL, granddaughter, Maci Columbia, of Franklinville, along with numerous nieces and nephews, an aunt, Mabel Burke, of Putnam, CT and uncle, Clarence Whittemore, of Putnam, CT.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence.
