Franklin Allred Obituary

Franklin Delanor Allred, 87, of Randleman, died Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral and Celebration of Life Services, 3 PM, Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, Franklinville.

Officiating, Rev. Jeff Joyce, Rev. Gerald Hussey, Rev. Alan Ritter.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard..

Franklin was a native and life long resident of Randolph County, a member of Central Falls Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and attended Whites Memorial Baptist Church. He was a faithful volunteer at Faith Christian School for many years. Franklin was the founder of Asheboro Alarm & Electric, Inc. and the owner over 40 years. He was a retired lineman with 38 years service with Central Telephone. Franklin was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a proud member and previous participant with the Randolph County Honor Guard for 18 years. He had a servant's heart with a kind, giving spirit and was always putting others above self. Franklin always had time to tell you about his wonderful grandchildren. He was creative and always thinking about the next project to complete and enjoyed taking his 1931 A-Model Ford to shows where he won many awards. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Carl and Viola Davis Allred, sister, Irene Reynolds, infant sister, Marie Allred, brothers, Wallace Allred, Eugene Allred, and Ray Allred.

Survivors: wife of 66 years, Ruby Harvell Allred, of the home, daughters, Carol Cash and husband, Doug, of Franklinville, Janet Hughes and husband, Kenneth, of Randleman, sisters, Ruth Allred, Louise Allred and husband, Gene, Catherine Bean, brothers, Clancy Allred and wife, Jeanette, Lonnie Allred and wife, Kathy, Carl Allred, Jr. and wife, Sue, grandchildren, Jordan Stein and wife, Megan, of Milton, Christin Stein, of Franklinville, Lauren Hughes, Ryan Hughes, both of Randleman, numerous nieces and nephews.

The body will lie in repose from noon until 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers during the last few months of his illness.

Visitation, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, Whites Memorial Baptist Church, Franklinville.
