Faye Evelyn Comer Caviness, 95, of Robbins, went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 9, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church in Bennett, NC, where she was the oldest living member.
Officiating will be Dr. Neal Jackson, Dr. Curtis Barbery and Rev. Arnold Comer.
Burial will be in the Beulah Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, Beulah Baptist Church, Bennett and other times at the residence.
The body will lie in repose on Wednesday, July 14 from noon until 5:00 PM at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.
Evelyn was a 1944 graduate of Seagrove High School. She grew up in Jugtown, one of 13 children. Her family, “The Singing Comers,” traveled to churches and community events sharing gospel music. A resident of Moore County, she was formerly employed by Burlington Industries and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. Evelyn loved music and traveled with her husband to hear him play with his bluegrass band. She enjoyed quilting with her sisters and was well known throughout the community for her delicious cooking. She enjoyed flowers of all shapes and kinds and in her later years spent time coloring beautiful Bible verse pictures to share with her family and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leo Clarence Caviness; her parents, Coy Lemuel and Annie Florence Comer; brothers Tracy Comer, Ted Comer, Bill Comer, and sisters Lola Upton, Edith Yow, Mittie Willamson, Mattie Needham and Ethel Kennedy.
Survivors: , Evelyn is survived by her four children, Windell Caviness (Pat) of Concord; Lois Cockman (Jimmy) of Robbins; Lorraine Leonard (Mitch) of Timberlake, and Leo Caviness (Alice) of Bennett.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joanne Stikeleather (Jerry) of Locust; Joey Caviness (Gina) of Concord; Chris Caviness (Tonya) of Concord; Scott Leonard (Julie) of Oak Island; Tabatha Allen (Roy) of Robbins; Adam Caviness (Jennifer) of Southern Pines; Jennifer Albright (Jay) of Bennett, and Leighann Long (H.R. “Bug”) of Roxboro.
Fourteen great-grandchildren also survive: Samantha Tuz (Jimmy), Taylor Burgesser (Drew), Sarah Lattin (Stephen), Elizabeth Mann (Brent), Matthew Caviness and Chrissy Caviness all of Concord; Madison Allen of Bennett; Jacob Stikeleather (Lacie) of Locust; Jadon Allen of Robbins; Anderson Long of Roxboro, and Janna Caviness, Elisha Caviness,Claire Caviness, Titus Caviness and Meg Katherine Caviness all of Southern Pines, and four great-great grandchildren, JT Tuz, Thomas Lattin, Torque Tuz and Waylon Burgesser, all of Concord.
Evelyn is survived by brothers Carroll Comer (Linda) and Arnold Comer (Patsy) and sisters Betty Caviness and Helen Ritter, brother-in-law, James Wesley "Jim" Cain.

Pallbearers will be Joey Caviness, Chris Caviness, Scott Leonard, Adam Caviness, Jay Albright, Anderson Long.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Stikeleather, Roy Allen, H.R. Long, Jr., Matthew Caviness, Jacob Stikeleather, Jadon Allen, Elisha Caviness and Titus Caviness.
