Ervin Charlie “Buck” Luther, Jr. 64, of Coleridge is now free of the constraints of this life, having passed on September 22, 2021. Buck’s career choices included sawmilling, commercial truck driving and operating a CB shop. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycling, fast cars, guns, boating, shade tree mechanics, woodworking and toiling the land with talking on a CB as “Thunderbolt” being his most loved pastime while watching wrestling. He invested a lifetime of pride in his home and property shared with the love of his life for forty-nine years. Nothing gave him more happiness than being called “Uncle Buck”.
Ervin was born on November 16, 1956, in Randolph County to Ervin (deceased) and Ruth A. Luther of Asheboro. He resided his adult life in Coleridge with his loving and devoted wife of forty-two years, Darlene Saunders Luther of the home. Ervin was always grateful to his deceased in-laws W.B. Saunders, Jr., Martha Saunders, and Maggie O. Saunders for raising the love of his life. He leaves behind two nephews he loved as sons, Brandon Lee Teague (wife, Brittany) of Coleridge with two great nephews, Blake and Brantlee, along with nephew Michael Teague (Rachel) of Gastonia. Ervin is also survived by niece Shannon Beaver (Seagrove), sister-in-law Judy Saunders (Coleridge), brother-in-law Alan Saunders (Coleridge), brother James Luther (Fuquay Varina), sister Donna Wood (Troy), and numerous other nieces and nephews. Ervin loved many fur babies over the years and is now reunited with Perky, Tink and Cuddles, leaving Lil Squirt to care for his wife.
A private celebration of a wonderful man’s life will be arranged at a later date. No viewing or visitation is scheduled as Ervin believed in enjoying his friends and family while alive. Ervin will be interred in Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur, N.C. Many thanks to the ICU /stroke unit staff of Moses Cone, Hospital, Greensboro, NC, who treated Buck with compassion and expertise until his final breath.
