Elva Ann Godat Law, 88, of Ramseur, died Monday, July 6, 2020 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.
Memorial Services, 11AM, Monday, July 20, 2020, at Dawn Law's Residence , 6439 Jordan Rd, Ramseur. Lunch will be provided after the service.
Elva was a native of Cole County Missouri and a longtime resident of Greensboro. She retired from Overhead Door in 1996. Elva married the love of her life, "Hop" on September 15, 1949 when she turned 18 and followed him on a trek throughout the states of Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, California, and Kentucky as he worked on railroads and with iron workers at U.S. Steel. They eventually settled in Greensboro around 1973 working in the office with her family. She loved her children and grandchildren so very much and had a special love for her children's spouses, showering love on them as her own. Elva was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marguerite Moomey Godat, sister, Norma Cartee,and brothers, Mike Godat, Jimmy Godat
Survivors: husband, Harold "Hop" Law, of the residence, daughter, Carol Dalfonso, and husband, Tom, of Portage, IN, son, Ron Law, and wife, Dawn, of Ramseur, sisters, Mary Garrett, and husband, Bob, of Greensboro, Pat Cook, and husband, Jim, of Greensboro, sister-in-law, Diane Godat, of Greensboro, grandchildren, Cody Law, Garrett Law, Savannah Law, Jason Jacob, Jennifer Courtney.
