Edward Walter Matney, 93, of Trinity, died Thursday, August 27, 2020 at North Pointe of Archdale.
Graveside Services, 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Pleasant Cross Christian Church, Asheboro.

Edward was a native of Buchanan County, Virginia, retired from Jockey International and a member of Pleasant Cross Christian Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to bluegrass music, water skiing, and flying airplanes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Matney, parents, George W. and Vernie Vandike Matney, sisters, Hazel Looney, Helen Bowman, brothers, Ira Matney, Junior Matney, Roger Matney.
Survivors: daughter, Netta Baker and husband, John, of Trinity, Verlina Morgan and husband, Elwood, of Eagle Springs, sisters, Ann Matney, of Asheboro, Thelma Ratliff, of Ramseur, Beulah Hess and husband, Sam, of Bristol, VA, brother, Buford Matney and wife, Linda, of Cedar Falls, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at Loflin Funeral Home from noon to 5:00 PM on Saturday.
