Edna Brafford Scotton, 85, of Coleridge, died Monday, June 8, 2020 at Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro.

Edna was a native Brunswick County, a longtime resident of Coleridge and was a graduate of Siler City High School. She was a member of Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Edna was a kind woman who was loved by every one that knew her. She had a profound appreciation for music and singing, especially in the church. Edna knew hundreds of Bible songs and loved teaching them to children in Children's Church and at Bible School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hampton Scotton, her son, Richard Scotton, her parents London Braford and Annie Hewett Brafford Brothers, L.H. Brafford, and Chester Brafford.
Survivors: daughter, Jill Mitchell, and husband, Allen, of Siler city , son, Jay Scotton, and wife, Ronda, of Coleridge, sisters, Shirley Johnson, of Portsmouth, VA, Annie Faye Braxton, of Pittsboro, Victoria Wade and husband, Bill, of Raleigh, grandchildren, Jayson Scotton, Jaron Scotton, Julikaye Scotton, Melissa Mitchell.
