Edgar was known affectionately to his family as "Junie", or Uncle June, and to his neighbors as Ed. When he was younger and able, he enjoyed walking everywhere and feeding animals. He took cookies to a den of foxes living near the railroad tracks, sometimes they followed him back to his porch. Junie threw bread to his neighbors chickens and had a growing feral cat colony. His favorite pastime was drinking Coca Cola and chain smoking Marlboros. Junie was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and he was also a lottery ticket scratching enthusiast. He grew up in Goodwill and Bramwell, West Virginia in a large family of seven girls and five boys. Junie was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Sr. and Ethel Rogers Epperson, sisters, Helen Taylor, Janet Epperson, Wilma Epperson Allen, and brother, Albert Epperson.
Survivors: sisters, Shirley Allen, of Trinity, Jeraldean Epperson, of West Virginia, Wanda Smith, of Franklinville, Dorothy Epperson, of Virginia, brothers, Buddy Epperson, of Ohio, Bill Epperson, of Ohio, Roger Epperson, of Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Seven Lakes Assisted Living & Memory Care, Community Home Care & Hospice of Rockingham, and Hop's BBQ for their kindness and generosity to Ed.
