Doris Allred Thompson, 92, of Ramseur, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Universal Health Care in Ramseur.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, Franklinville.
Officiating, Rev. Bob Chaney, Rev. Lynn Chaney.
Doris was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, retired from Ramtex, and spent the last part of her career working at Sears. She considered her coworkers as family and was able to keep in touch with them for many years. Doris enjoyed flowers, watching the hummingbirds, and working in her garden. She loved spending time with family on vacation, especially at the beach, and her greatest joy in life was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Thompson, parents, Roy and Elsie Dyson Allred, sister, Mary Lee Robinson and brother, Grady Allred.
Survivors: daughters, Gloria Best and husband, Robert, of South Dakota, Janet Henley and husband, Benny, of Franklinville, Robin Rudick and husband, Morris, of Ramseur, sister, Nancy Crawford, of Greensboro, brothers, David Allred (Beth), of Kernersville, Jimmy Allred (Sherry), of Ramseur, grandchildren, Angela Towne (Jason), Derrick Wadleigh, Brandon Henley, Candi Leonard (Travis), Robert Duncan (Amanda), Devin Best, Marissa Shaw (Blake), Cierra Rudick, twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will recieve friends following the service in the church fellowship hall, and other times at the home of Benny and Janet Henley.
