David Stanley Dodson

David Stanley Dodson, 85, of Staley, died Saturday, October 14, 2023 at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus in Hillsborough.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

David was born in Alamance County, was a longtime resident of Staley and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was an artist and Master Craftsman, having retired from HG Strickland Construction Company. David enjoyed spending time outdoors looking for arrowheads, loved all animals and was an avid collector.  He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty four years, Sandra Oakley Dodson, mother, Margaret S. Johnson and uncle and aunt, Franklin and Marjorie "Pete" Langley.

Survivors: children, Stan Dodson, and wife, Sloan, of High Point, Lisa Dodson Kidd, and husband, Ritchie, of Coleridge, Dr. Julian Dodson, and wife, Dr. Rebecca Ellis Dodson, of Pullman, WA, sisters, Carolyn Mills and Susan Rice, cousins, Rosa Lee Langley Allred and Boyd F. Langley, grandchildren, Katelyn Kidd Craven (Nick), Caleb Kidd (Chandler), Corbin Dodson, Carmen Dodson, Rory Dodson, Riley Dodson, great-grandchildren, Garrett Craven, Callie Craven, Salem Scout Craven, Winston Kidd and Madalyn Kidd as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
