Colvin Edmond "Shorty" Byrd, 83, of Asheboro, died Monday, January 24, 2022 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 3 PM, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Ramseur.
Officiating, Rev. Garry Reeder.
Burial, Union Grove Christian Church, Asheboro.
Colvin was a native of Randolph County, retired as a heavy equipment operator with the Department of Transportation, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hammer Byrd and parents, Howard A. and Leona Brown Byrd.
Survivors: daughter, Teresa Byrd and husband, Rex Auman, of Seagrove, son, Carl Byrd, of Asheboro, brothers, Maxton Byrd, Darrell "Bill" Byrd, Thomas Hilton "Pete" Byrd, all of Asheboro, grandchildren, Kyna Gunter, husband, John, Derrick Richardson and wife, Kristin, Heather Byrd, great-grandchildren, Ryan Leonard, Dylan Leonard, Mia Leonard, Pierce Leonard, Aubrey McCaskill, Karley McCaskill, Wyatt Richardson, Johnsie Richardson, great-great-grandchild, Rylinn Leonard, and his special dog, Susie.
Visitation, 1 PM to 3 PM, Friday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
