Charles Raye Shores, Sr., 83, of Asheboro, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral Services, 11 AM, Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Franklinville with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
The family requests that all attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing at the service.

Charles was a native of Rowan County and a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Lowes Foods/Just Save in Ramseur after a long career in sales. Charles was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by wife, Sue Gooch Shores, his first wife, Edith Shores, his son, Charles R. Shores, Jr., his parents, Chester and Maude Donahue Shores, and all of his brothers and sisters.
Survivors: daughters, Mary Ann Moran, and husband Paul Pugh, of Ramseur, Shelia Shores Watts, and husband, Bobby, of High Point, Tracy Leigh Shores, of Asheboro, Susan Eileen Gooch Henson, of Asheboro, son, Robert Craig Gooch, and wife, Martha, of Asheboro, twenty one grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, his daughter-in-law, Joyce Shores, of Coleridge, as well as numerous other family members, and his beloved dog, Sheba Rose.
The body will lie in repose on Monday, February 15, 2021 from noon until 5 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home.
