Betty Lou Craven Obituary

Betty Lou Callicutt Craven, 87, of Franklinville, died Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her residence.

Private Graveside Services, Sunday, at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, Ramseur.

Officiating, Rev. John Bryant.

Betty was a native of Randolph County and a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church. She was still full of life and very active, planning what she was going to do tomorrow. However, the Lord had different plans, calling her home around 6 AM on Thursday. Our Heavenly Father took her and blessed us with the knowledge that she left this world peacefully and pain free. Praying as she went, He wrapped her in His arms and freed her from all worldly problems. Betty had a long bought with diabetes and circulatory problems, but it never stopped her from doing the things she loved. She had an amazing life full of wonderful memories that she never forgot. Betty had a wealth of knowledge stored in her mind, a loving heart, and a desire to care for everyone, especially by feeding them! She was never at a loss for words and made a strong impression on everyone she met. Betty was a homemaker, seamstress, flower gardener and avid crocheter. She loved going to craft shows during the fall of the year to sell her "oh so sought after" hats, along with many other items. Betty will be greatly missed by her friends and loving family. The legacy she left remains and will continue on. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clarkston Craven, her parents, Earl Clifford, Sr. and Minnie Bell Haithcock Callicutt, and daughter-in-law, Linda Craven.

Survivors: daughters, Corliss Deese and husband, John, Marjo Marley, and husband, Pete, Katrena Parker and husband, Dale, son, Darrell Craven, grandchildren, Elena Perry, and husband, Michael, Joanie Oler, and husband, Daniel, Deanna Freeman, and husband, Brian, Dreama Pritchard, and husband, Adam, Megan Marley, Kendra Gardner, and husband, Larry, Jana Hartis, great-grandchildren, Michael, Samuel, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Evey, Levi, Lavender, Xander, Zinnia, Daniel, Sebastian, Alex, Caden, Corabelle, Nexus, Carter, Lumen, Kalya, Jayden, and a great-great-grandchild, due in August of 2020.
