Barry Robert Ellis

Barry Robert Ellis, 66, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Midland Medical Lodge in Midland, Texas.

A Private Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on Sunday, November 1st at 3PM.

Barry was born on August 1, 1954 in Randolph County and grew up in the Millboro community of Franklinville. He was a 1972 graduate of Eastern Randolph High School where he played basketball and baseball, and was member of the student government association. Barry attended Randolph Technical Community College after high school. He was formerly employed by Black & Decker, Metals USA, Specialized Packaging Flexo and lastly at Bank Note Corporation in the central North Carolina area. Barry attended New Dawn Fellowship Church in Odessa Texas. He loved his sons and was an avid outdoorsman his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting with his children, grandchildren, brother, and friends whenever possible. Barry also enjoyed westerns, farm equipment, classic cars and trucks, and eating dinner with his friends and family at local restaurants and he will be truly missed by them all. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Robert and Betty Reeder Ellis, of Millboro, his infant son, Brant Reece Ellis, and his grandparents, Alfred Benton and Allie Ellis of Millboro, Charlie and Josie Reeder of Moore County.

Survivors: wife, Patsy Coble Eilers Ellis, of Odessa, Texas (formerly of Liberty, NC); former wife and mother of his sons, Rita Sharpe Ellis, of Asheboro, step daughter, Christy Eilers Wade, of Odessa, Texas, adopted step daughter, Chashann "Nikki" Dickson, and her family, of Odessa Texas, sons, Brandon Robert Ellis, and wife, Ashley, of Ramseur, Blake Ryan Ellis, of Franklinville, step son, Caleb Eilers, of Odessa, Texas, sister, Beverly Ellis O'Brien, and husband, Richard, of Millboro, brother, Brad R. Ellis, and wife, Jennifer, of Millboro, grandchildren, Braden Ross Ellis, Brynna Reagan Ellis, both of Ramseur, step grandchildren, Dustin Eliers, Corey Eilers, Tanner Wade, Faith Wade, Asher Wade, all of Odessa, Texas, nephew, Casey Frank, of Millboro.
