Barrett was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was a member of Parks Crossroads Christian Church and attended Freedom Baptist Church in Asheboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Malone Cox, his daughter-in-law, Robin Vickory Cox, his parents, James, and Esther Craven Cox.
Survivors: daughter, Robin Swaim, and husband, Bob, of Cary, son, Ricky Cox, of Ramseur, sisters, Freida Waisner, and husband, Harold, of Ramseur, Gwen Carmac, of Asheboro, Daile Yarborough, of Kernersville, grandchildren, Jordan Cox, Casey Cox, Kayla Swaim Fussell, Preston Swaim, Chase Swaim, great-grandchildren, Dublin Cox, Oliver Cox, Amira Cox.
The body will lie in repose on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from noon until 5:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.
