Walter "Walt" Lee Kirkman, 85, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services, 11 AM, Friday, September 27, 2019, at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church, Asheboro.

Officiating, Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp.

Burial, Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.

Walt was a native of Randolph County and attended Ramseur School. He was a self-employed brick mason, and attended Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church. Walt was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed camping, boating, and watching his grandchildren play ball. He also loved to spend time at the local cafe fellowshipping with his friends. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Lednum Kirkman, brothers and their wives, Earl and Francis Moon Kirkman, Rayford and Mary Lee Millikan Kirkman, and Arthur "Ed" and Inez Moon Kirkman.

Survivors: wife, Lynda "Pennie" Hinson Kirkman, of the home, daughter, April Fisher, and husband, Bruce, of Randleman, sons, Phillip W. Kirkman, and wife, Pat, of Franklinville, Kenneth W. Kirkman, and wife, Cathy, of Staley, Allen W. Kirkman, of Franklinville, brother, Odell Kirkman, and wife, Virgie, of Ramseur, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other times at the residence of April and Bruce Fisher, 2158 Sarina Dr. Randleman.
