Terry Lee York

Terry Lee York, 71, of Asheboro, died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Terry was a native of Randolph County, former owner and operator for 30 years of Terry York Builders, and owner of Jesse Lee York & Son Feed & Seed. He was employed by the City of Asheboro in the Grounds & Maintenance Dept. and was a former President of the Home Builders Association of Randolph County. Terry was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He loved sports, especially golf. Terry enjoyed gardening and great conversations always taking the time to ask, "How's your family?" He was a man of honor and of the "handshake," believing that a handshake was worth more than words. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lee and Hazel York, and Lois Viola Kivett.

Survivors: wife, Paula Walker York, of the home, son, Jeff York, and Holly Price, of Liberty, daughter, Angela York Stanley, and husband, Kelby, of Liberty, brother, Mike Kivett, and wife, Karen, of Staley, sisters, Sandi Hopkins, of Burlington, Judy Barnes, and husband, Wayne, of Archdale, step daughter, Tina Varner Shaw, and husband, Brandon, of Asheboro, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
