Lucille Moore Jones, 86, of Bennett, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 3 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Bennett Baptist Church, Bennett.
Officiating, Rev. Edwin Moore.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Lucille was a native of Moore County, a graduate of Elise High School in 1950 and retired in 1989 from the hosiery Industry. She had also worked for Jones Jewelers, Bennett School, Carolina Bank and Dr. Byerly's office.
She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church and had been a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church since age twelve. Lucille loved God, her church, enjoyed teaching the adult Sunday school class, singing in the choir for over fifty years and being a member of the Women's Missionary Union. She was Morning Prayer Group leader and started the Sunday morning prayer group. She was an encouragement to many people. She enjoyed quilting, giving away over 215 baby quilts.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Blanche Garner Moore, husband, Wayne Jones, daughter, Reva Owens, sister, Colleen Baxter, and brother, Carson Moore.
Survivors: sons, Phillip and wife Tamara, of Jacksonville Florida, Timothy "Tim" and wife Nina, of Bennett, sisters, Janelle Garner, of Robbins, Brenda Lednum, of Ramseur, brothers, Ray Moore, of Pleasant Garden, James Moore, of Robbins, Rev. Edwin Moore, of Robbins, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Saturday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
