Hazel was a native of Henry County, Virginia and a longtime resident of Ramseur. She retired from Ramtex Inc. where she worked for 20 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Ramseur. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy S. Overman, infant son and daughter, Herbert Stanley Overman, and Amy Joyce Overman, parents, Randolph and Rosa Shough Wigington.

Overman, wife, Patti, of Fremont, David Overman, wife, Lisa, of Ramseur, sisters, Marie Carden, husband, Bobby, of Burlington, Linda Oakley, husband, Jerry, of Burlington, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
