Hazel Bowman Kimrey, 92, of Staley, died Friday, August 9, 2019 at Universal Health Care in Ramseur.

Funeral Services, 11 AM, Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Staley.

Officiating, Rev. Jimmy Austin, Rev. Alton Cook.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Hazel was a native of Randolph County, a longtime resident of Staley and matriarch of the family. She was retired from NCNB and then went to work for Montgomery Ward retiring at the age of seventy three. Hazel was a life time member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and a charter member of the Staley Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Grady Kimrey, sons, James Grady Kimrey, Jr., Danny Garvin Kimrey, parents, Arthur and Neva Hester Bowman, brothers, R.D. Bowman, and Jake Arthur Bowman, Robert Bowman, Colon Bowman, Jerry Bowman, sister, Dezzie Mahler.

Survivors: daughters, Faye Jones, and husband, Lynn, of Whitsett, Margie Kirkman, and husband, Tommy, of Liberty, Shelia Stout and husband, Boyd, of Staley, son, Mike Kimrey, and wife, Dot, of Staley, sisters, Orpha Wiseman, and husband, Fred, of Jacksonville, FL, Rachel Thomas, of Newport, NC, brother, Lacy Bowman, of Pleasant Garden, grandchildren, Lisa, Angie,  Mary Ann, Chad, Tammy, Craig, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister-in-laws, Vivian Bowman, of New Port, VA, Betty Bowman, Brenda Bowman, both of Julian, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Monday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other time at the residence.
