Dorothy Gladys Upchurch, 96, of High Falls, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Autumn Care in Biscoe.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 2:00 PM at High Falls United Methodist Church, 324 Friesen Road, High Falls.

Officiating, Rev. Robert Lee Kidd.

Gladys was born on November 28, 1921 to the late Jasper and Annie Hussey.  She was a native of Moore County and worked in the textile industry for over 30 years.  She was a homemaker and oldest member of High Falls United Methodist Church. Gladys enjoyed gardening and being with the people she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vernon Upchurch, her brother, Fletcher Hussey, and her sisters, Vida Garner, Rosa Williams, and Artie Brown.

Survivors: son, Dr. Larry Upchurch and wife Nina of High Falls, sister, Beatrice Grimes, of Robbins, brother, Junior Hussey and wife Shirley of Fayetteville, grandchildren, Lauren Clossey and husband Brian of Raleigh and Will Upchurch of Nashville, Tn., sisters-in-law Ruth Hussey of Robbins and Eva Mae Kennedy of High Falls, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Autumn Care for their service and tender care.

The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary following the service.
