Cleo was a native of Randolph County, formerly employed with Klaussner Furniture and a farmer. He was a member of Bennett Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Maness Cox, son, Wayne Cox, parents, Vertis and Vertle Caviness Cox, sister, Berta Mae Spencer, brothers Recil Cox, Laven Cox, step daughters, Martha Hussey, Virginia Barker, step sons, David Hussey, Michael Hussey,
Survivors: son, Eddie Cox, and wife, Debbie, of Arden, NC, sisters, Emma Jean Marley, of Asheboro, Mildred Hoover, and husband, Ed, of Franklinville, Charlene Maness, of Bear Creek, step-daughter, JoAnn Maness, and husband, Eugene, of Asheboro, step-son, Cecil Hussey, and wife, Teeny, of High Falls, grandchildren, Ashley Garren, and husband, Jason, of Seagrove, Jeff Cox, and wife, Kacey, of Macon, GA, Brian Cox, and wife, Caroline, of Huntersville, Kevin Cox, of Randleman, great-grandchildren, Preston Clay, Harper Cox, Brent Cox.
