Roy Arnold Cox, 74, of Portsmouth, VA died Friday, March 1, 2024 at Mary View Medical in Portsmouth, VA.

Graveside Memorial Service, 3 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Deep River Baptist Church Cemetery, Coleridge with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Officiating, Rev. Tim Strider.

Roy was a native of Randolph County and a longtime resident of Portsmouth, VA. He retired from Virginia Power & Light Company and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Russell and Edna York Cox, sisters, Mary Lou Jones, Carol Woodell and brother, Russell Cox.

Survivors: sister, Wilhema Poole, and husband, Bobby, of Asheboro, brother, Calvin Cox, and wife, Darlene, of Seagrove, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
