William "Bill" Joseph Black, 80, of Asheboro, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services, 11 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, Asheboro.

Officiating, Rev. Jeff Garner.

Burial, Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Bill was a native of Davidson County, a self-employed salesman of fire equipment, and a retired welder. He was a member of the Westside Volunteer Fire Department and served as chief for several years. Bill was a member of Sawyersville Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fleta Black.

Survivors: daughter, Alisa Thompson, and husband, Paul, of Asheboro, sister, Bonnie M Baker, and husband, Charles, of Trinity, brother, Robert Lee Black, and wife, Faye, of Asheboro, grandchildren, Ashley Caviness, Heather Grant, and Brandon Thompson, three great-grandchildren, five nephews, one niece.

Visitation, 10 AM to 11 AM, Wednesday, Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, Asheboro and other times at the residence of Charles and Bonnie Baker, 4646 Pliney Farlow Rd., Trinity, NC.
