I am sadden to hear of the passing of my friend! We worked together at WBUY in 1964 and 1965 on "request time" and worked together again in 1965 and 1966 at Piedmont Funeral Home. His family came to my fathers church, Wayside Baptist Tabernacle, during the 1960's. Van had a terffic voice for radio and I will always cherish our time working together.

We are so sorry for the passing of your father. Van was a real good friend of ours. He did a lot of work at the restaurant and at our home. We just found out about his passing. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

I would like to share a comforting Scripture from God's inspired Word, the Bible with the family. Isaiah 41:10 says: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness". Please accept my sincere condolences. I am so sorry for the death of your father. Van was very dear to me. I first met him at WBUY radio in 1966 when my first husband Wayne Workman started working at the radio station with him. I spoke with him often over the years and the last time was in March when he called to talk about Ivey Workman and his wife who raised Van. I pray that God will give you peace and understanding during this time. I want be able to attend his graveside service but will be thinking about you.
