Ruth Pugh Akers, 86, of Ramseur, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Graveside Services, 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Moore Cemetery, Draper, VA.

Officiating, Rev. Paul Freeman.

Ruth was a native of Pulaski County, VA, a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was a wonderful cook, wrote poetry, and kept many children in her home in the past.  Ruth also loved her cat, "Nokie". She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Kelley Akers, her parents, five sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors: daughters, Donna Jewell Freeman, and husband, Thomas, Rhonda Shirlene Freeman, and husband, Paul, both of Ramseur, Naomi Ruth Grant, and husband, Jimmy, of Liberty, Karen Lynnette Cooper, and husband, Junior, of Cordova, sons, Garland Dale Akers, and wife, Carol, of Ramseur, Gary Wayne Akers, and companion, Andrea Sherman, of Archdale, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to caregiver and family friend, Robin Seabrease.
