Robert Edgar "Bob" Beane, 88, of 4445 Hwy 42 South, Asheboro, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral Services, 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, Ramseur.

Officiating, Rev. Todd Brown, Rev. Johnny Henderson.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Bob was a native of Randolph County and a member of Holly Spring Friends Meeting.  Mr. Beane was also active in many community and fraternal organizations.  He was a member of the Maretta Lodge #444 Masonic Order, the Liberty Chapter #66 Order of Eastern Stars, and the High Point Chapter of the Shriners.  He also served as a past member of the Board of Directors for Randolph Community College and First National Bank.  

Bob had a very active career working for General Hardware in Asheboro and Odell Hardware in Greensboro for 40 years.  He was the original "Hardware Man." He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Byrd Beane, his parents, Edgar and Fannie Lambert Beane, and his brother, June L. Beane

Survivors: daughter, Catherine Jane Parks, and husband Mark, of Asheboro, and his beloved dog, Sarge.

Visitation, 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM, Wednesday, Holly Spring Friends Meeting, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
