Ray M. Cheek, 87, of 1037 Hudson Lane, Asheboro, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services, 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Central Falls Baptist Church, Asheboro.

Officiating, Rev. Gerald Hussey, Rev. Darrell Garner.

Burial, Franklinville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklinville with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Ray was a native of Chatham County, a retired truck driver with Pilot Freight, presently employed with Southern Supreme Fruit Cake Co. with 16 years of service, and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was member of American Legion Post 45, a member of Central Falls Baptist Church and a member of the Woodman of World. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.S. and Mamie Davis Cheek, his brothers, Earl Cheek, Clyde Cheek, William Cheek and his sister, Clara C. Harris.

Survivors: wife, Evelyn Craven Cheek, of the home, daughters, Susan Mussotto, and husband, John, of Margate, FL, Barbara Moran, and husband, Elvis, of Asheboro, grandchildren, Shannon Haithcock, Jennifer Moran, Jason Moran (Kelly), and Joshua Moran, great-grandchildren, Derek Jose, Jordan Moran, Preston Hamilton, and Jayden Moran, great-great-grandchild, Liam Moran, brother-in-law, Reid Harris, of Sanford, sisters-in-law, Ruby Cheek, of Cameron and Juanita Cheek, of Franklinville.
