Rachel Ward Parks, 92, of 2835 Old Cedar Falls Rd., Asheboro, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 2, 2017.

Funeral Services, 3 PM, Sunday, August 6, 2017, at First Christian Church, Ramseur.

Officiating, Rev. Garry Arnett.

Burial, Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur.

Rachel was born in Chatham County on February 14, 1925 to Hardy C. and Laura Yow Ward and lived in the Ramseur Community for most of her life. She graduated from Ramseur High School in 1942, and worked at Randolph Mills in Franklinville for thirty years, then worked at Ramseur Interlock until she retired. Rachel was a member of First Christian Church in Ramseur where she attended for eighty five years. She was saved by the grace of God in 1937, and served as a Sunday School Teacher, and was active in the Women's Fellowship Group, and the "All Over Sixty" in her beloved "Home Church." She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Randolph Parks, her parents, Hardy C., and Laura Yow Ward, son, Daniel S. Parks, sisters, Louise Ward Bowden, Grace Ward, and brothers, Gordon H. Ward, and Hayden David Ward.

Survivors: daughters, Vivian Maness, and husband, Tommy, of Coleridge, Violet Burgess, and husband, Danny, of Franklinville, son, Kenneth Parks, of the home, daughter-in-law, Darlene Parks, of Palmyra, VA, sister, Maxine Ward Brady, of Siler City, brothers, Paul Craven Ward, and wife, Brenda, of Siler City, Blaine S. Ward, of Asheboro, step-son, Darrell Parks, and family, of Asheboro, grandchildren, Laura Maness, of Coleridge, Jennifer Cox, and husband, Clark, of Asheboro, Russ Burgess, and wife, Christy, of Liberty, Alyssa Parks, of Arlington, VA, Daniel Parks, of Palmyra, VA, Amy Parks, of Richmond, VA, great-grandchildren, Colton Cox, Ella Cox, Abbey Burgess, Aubrey Burgess, sister-in-law, Vann Parks, of Ramseur, brother-in-law, Richard Parks, of Staley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation, 2 PM to 3 PM, Sunday, First Christian Church, Ramseur.
