Mark was a native of Randolph County, a former truck driver for 30 years and a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church.

Survivors: wife, Jennette Beane Chaney, of the home, parents, Johnny and Maxine Owens Chaney, of Asheboro, sons, Shaun Chaney, of Hilton Head Island, SC, Chris Chaney, and wife, Leesa, of Salisbury, Mark Chaney, Jr., and wife, Krystal, of Franklinville, daughters, Leigh Anne Saunders, and husband, Bill, of Troy, Crystal Davis, and husband, Shawn, of Franklinville, step-son, Buddy McDonald, of Huntersville, sister, Sharon Chaney, of Asheboro, brother, Steve Chaney, and wife, Terri, of Blowing Rock, grandchildren, Samantha, Dale, Brianna, James, Jeremiah, Landon, Tyler, step-grandchildren, Katie, Alexis, Ashton, Austin, Skylar, Raylan, Garrett.
