Leona Brown Byrd, 98, of 3321 Old NC Hwy 13, Asheboro, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services, 2 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Union Grove Christian Church , Asheboro.

Officiating, Pastor Scott Kidd.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Leona was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Christian Church. She was blessed with a long and full life, serving her family and her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Byrd, parents Edwin and Lorenah Brown, and brother, Harold Brown.

Survivors: sons, Maxton Byrd, and wife, Shelby, of Asheboro, C.E. "Shorty" Byrd, of Asheboro, Hilton "Pete" Byrd, of Asheboro, Darrell "Bill" Byrd, and Grace, of Asheboro, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Randolph County, and caregivers Shelly, Shelby, Grace, Kayly, and others.

Visitation, 1 PM to 2 PM, Saturday, Union Grove Christian Church , Asheboro and other times at the residence.
