Julian Emerson Turner, Jr., 71, of 2578 Old 421 Road, Staley, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Duke Medical Center in Durham.

Funeral Services, 11 AM, Tuesday, April 26, 2016,  at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Ramseur.

Officiating, Rev. DeWayne Hinshaw, Eddie Hill.

Burial, Staley Cemetery, Staley.

Emerson  was a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, retired from the US Postal Service, a previous member of the National Guard, and a member of the Gospel Travelers Bluegrass Band. Emerson was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Emerson Sr. and Melba Dawes Turner, son, Christopher Turner, and a brother, Bobby Turner.

Survivors: wife, Peggy T. Turner, of the home, sister, Ann Simpson, of Nashville, NC, brothers, Gary Turner, and wife, Laura, of Eleanor, West Virginia, Johnny Turner, and wife, Debbie, of Wilson.

Visitation, 10 AM to 11 AM, Tuesday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
