James Robert Ritter, 74, of Ramseur, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services, 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Antioch Christian Church, Seagrove.

Officiating, Rev. Brian Maness, Rev. Brian Faircloth, Rev. Ralph Voncannon, Rev. Jim Honeycutt.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

James, a native of Randolph County, went to his Heavenly home after a rich, and full life of service. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. James was a devout Christian and dedicated member of Antioch Christian Church of Seagrove. He served in the United States Army and then started a career in textiles and packaging at Klopman Mills, Georgia Pacific, and retired from South Corr as a maintenance manager. Since childhood he loved farming and worked countless hours in the field and in the shop. James always enjoyed helping and encouraging others to better themselves. He walked close with God and demonstrated it through his love for his family and in his daily life.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Emma Needham Ritter, sister, Gladys Cockman, and his granddaughter, Gracie Harris.

Survivors: wife of fifty four years, Lois Henson Ritter, of the home, daughters, Robin Garner, and husband, Mike, of Ramseur, Julie Harris, and husband, Michael, of Carthage, son, Wesley Ritter, and wife, Bobbie, of Ramseur, sisters, Vertle Ritter, of Ramseur, Lessie Maness, of Bear Creek, Tessie Garner, of Bennett, Hazel Reich, and husband, Joey, of Ramseur, brother, Levis Ritter, and wife, Joanne, of Ramseur, grandchildren, Dustin Ritter, and wife, Carrie, Daniel Ritter, and fiancee, Emily Melton, Melanie Garner, Molly Harris, Audrey Harris, future great-grandchild, Brody.

Visitation, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
